Matching Granite Worktops with Your Floors

Granite - a natural stone found in the lap of mother earth is quarried, cut and polished to form slabs or tiles that are used as granite worktops and countertops throughout the world. No two pieces of granite are similar as they are pattered as the nature creates them. You may find a huge array of granite varieties in the market to choose from. Granite worktops have become increasingly popular because of so many choices and styles of granite available on the market. Apart from it’s so many benefits and uses granite look classy and provides an elegant appearance to the overall look of your kitchens and bathrooms.

Now let’s come to the topic that I really wanted to discuss here. With so many choices of granite available in the market, it would be a tiresome job to find and match worktops to the existing or new floor of the house. Here are some quick tips

It should be same or in contrast?

If we talk about bathrooms, yes matching granite counters exactly to the bathroom floors would look best but not in a kitchen. Kitchen worktop colours should compliment the floor colour and not exactly match it. If we do so we would give our kitchens a very monotonous appearance. Worktops should appear as a focal point thus enhancing the appeal of the floor. If your floor is dark coloured, you must choose granite worktops that are lighter in colour and if your floor is lighter than choose dark shades of granite worktops to make your kitchens more appealing.

The best way

The smartest idea to decide on things would be to incorporate the entire project together by collecting all of the colours in the house. Gather accessories, paints with the granite worktops and floor material options. All things at one place will help to establish a colour palette to work from.
